Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) investigations into water entry problems of a rigid flat plate with air pockets were systematically conducted. The Volume (VOF) model was utilised to capture localised slamming phenomena that occur during, and post-impact events. model's geometry modified include pocket on the impact surface investigate effect entrapment magnitude distribution forces pressures. A parametric study conducted geometric parameters modelled by altering its area, depth, volume examine response force pressure loading under several velocities. numerical results pressures in good agreement experimental drop test measurements (with relative error -6% 7% for pressure, respectively). proved peak is proportional velocity squared (pmax?v2).
